Youth Racing Opportunities

Developing knowledgeable and capable youth sailors and instilling a passion for the sport of sailing!

Whether it be for pure fun or the excitement of competitive sailing, Dana Point Yacht Club provides the opportunity for youth to become involved in sailing at all levels ... from learning to sail to advanced racing.  We have a selection of racing opportunities open to both members and to the public and are always looking for new participants.

High School racing (Ages 13-18):

Comprised of a conglomerate of high school racing teams, the DPYC High School Racing Program provides sailors an opportunity to train against their peers. Each team is lead by their their high school appointed team leader, who works with the coach to facilitate an effective learning environment for the student body. High school sailors compete along the coast in the PCISA SoCal series and strive to master the intricacies of racing strategy, tactics, and advanced boat handling. Contact your students guidance counselor or the Sailing Director for more information about sailing at the high school level.
